Pipe Repair Services in Hesperia & the High Desert
From Small Leaks to Whole-House Repipes
A leaking or broken pipe never waits for a good time, and the High Desert’s old plumbing and hard water make it common. We handle pipe repair and replacement for homes and businesses across Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Valley, Adelanto, Barstow, Big Bear, and the rest of San Bernardino County. From a single copper pipe repair to whole house repiping and main water line repair, we find the real problem first and fix it right, with same-day and after-hours service when you need it.
Pipe and Water Line Repair Done Right
John’s Plumbing and Rooter has repaired and replaced High Desert pipes since 2000. We are a family-owned, licensed plumbing contractor with a master plumber on the team, and we handle pipe repair, pipe replacement, repiping, water line repair, and pressure reducing valve work for homes, businesses, and municipal clients across Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Valley, Adelanto, Barstow, Big Bear, and the wider San Bernardino County. If it carries water through your property, odds are we work on it.
Small leaks are not small problems. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, household leaks waste about 10,000 gallons of water per home every year, and a hidden pipe leak can run up your bill and rot framing long before you spot it. Catching it early is the cheapest repair there is. That is why we take even a small drip seriously.
Pipes fail for all kinds of reasons out here. Older homes still have galvanized pipe problems and even polybutylene pipe that is prone to failure, hard water speeds up pipe corrosion, and pressure or temperature swings cause a broken pipe or burst pipe. We repair copper, install and repair PEX pipe, and replace whatever is past saving, whether the trouble is a leaking pipe in a wall, a leaking pipe under the house, or a pipe leak in the ceiling. Whatever the material or the spot, we have repaired it before.
We do not start swinging hammers and opening walls. We find the leak first with proper leak detection, show you what is going on, and then give you the choice between a targeted repair and a longer-term replacement. You get honest options, upfront pricing, and a service fee credited toward the work.

Our Pipe and Water Line Services
When pipes are too old or corroded to keep patching, repiping replaces them for good. We handle whole house repiping in copper or PEX, and we are the people to call when galvanized or polybutylene pipe has reached the end of the road. A repipe ends the cycle of chasing one leak after another.
From a leak under the slab to the line coming in from the street, our water line repair covers it. That includes main water line repair and underground pipe repair, the kind of work you want done right the first time. We restore flow and seal the line so you are not back at it next season.
Too much pressure wrecks pipes, fixtures, and appliances. A pressure reducing valve brings it back to a safe level, and it is often the fix for banging pipes and water hammer throughout the house. We set it to the right pressure for your home and test it before we leave.
Signs You Have a Pipe Problem
Leaking Pipe in a Wall
A damp spot, a stain, or a musty smell on a wall often means a leaking pipe in the wall. The sooner it is found, the less drywall and framing you lose to it. We pinpoint it without tearing the whole wall open.
Leak Under the House or Ceiling
A leaking pipe under the house or a pipe leak in the ceiling can drip for weeks unseen. Sagging drywall, warped floors, or a jump in your water bill are the usual giveaways. Catching these early keeps a small fix from becoming a remodel.
Broken or Burst Pipe
A broken pipe or a burst pipe needs fast action to limit the damage. Shut off your water if you can, then call us, this is exactly the kind of job we take same-day. Fast shutoff and a quick repair save you the worst of the water damage.
Banging Pipes or Water Hammer
Banging pipes and water hammer, that knock when you shut off a tap, usually point to high pressure. A pressure reducing valve quiets it down and protects your plumbing.
Old or Corroded Pipe
Galvanized pipe problems, failing polybutylene pipe, and general pipe corrosion show up as rusty water, low flow, and repeat leaks. When patching stops paying off, repiping is the real answer. Replacing the bad pipe once costs less than repairing it again and again.
Low Pressure or Wet Spots in the Yard
A drop in pressure or soggy patches in the yard can mean a leak in the buried supply line. That points to water line repair, often underground, before the loss gets worse.
Why Choose Us for Pipe Work
- We Find the Real Problem
We locate the actual leak or failure before we open anything up, so the repair is precise and you are not paying to chase guesses through your walls. Accurate location means a smaller opening and a faster, cleaner repair.
- Repair or Replace, Your Call
Sometimes a spot repair is all you need; sometimes replacement saves money long term. We lay out both, including copper pipe repair and PEX pipe options, and let you decide. There is no upsell, just the math on what makes sense for your home.
- Same-Day and After-Hours
A burst pipe will not wait, so we offer same day pipe repair and after hours pipe repair when it cannot wait until morning. A fast response keeps a leak from turning into a flooded room.
- Upfront Pricing and Financing
You get the price before work starts, no surprises, and financing is available on larger jobs like a full repipe.

Highly recommend this company, especially Levi, who did a beautiful job on our hot water heater last year and on our sink and garbage disposal this week. Pipe Repair Questions
Don’t see your question? Call us directly — we’re happy to walk through any plumbing question before you commit to anything.
How much does pipe repair cost?
Pipe repair cost depends on where the pipe is, how bad the damage is, and the material. A small accessible leak is far cheaper than reaching a line in a slab or wall. We find the problem, then give you the price upfront before any work starts. The diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair when you hire us.
Should I repair or repipe?
One isolated leak usually just needs a repair. But if you are getting repeat leaks, rusty water, or you still have galvanized or polybutylene pipe, repiping is often the smarter money. We give you the honest tradeoff, and for homes with original galvanized plumbing a planned repipe usually wins.
Do you offer same-day or after-hours pipe repair?
Yes. A burst or badly leaking pipe is an emergency, so we offer same day pipe repair during business hours and after hours pipe repair for the calls that cannot wait.
Are old galvanized or polybutylene pipes a problem?
They can be. Galvanized pipe problems include internal rust and low flow, and polybutylene pipe is known to fail without warning. If your home still has either, it is worth planning a replacement before it leaks. A scheduled swap is far cheaper than the water damage from a surprise failure.
What causes banging pipes or water hammer?
Banging pipes and water hammer usually come from water pressure that is too high or from missing arrestors. A pressure reducing valve is the common fix, and we can confirm the cause with a quick pressure check.
